In our daily cleaning, we often deal with glass surfaces like windows, doors, cups, and mirrors. Glass is a common material in our homes, but improper cleaning can make it look cloudy. With the right method, your glass can stay shiny and new.

The simplest way to clean glass is to first wipe it with a damp cloth and then dry it immediately with a dry cloth. Old newspapers can also be used as an eco-friendly alternative. For greasy stains, rubbing alcohol works well as a cleaner. For less stubborn dirt, regular dish soap can be effective. For thicker grease on kitchen windows, rubbing with a cut onion is a cheap and eco-friendly solution. For tough kitchen grease on glass, spray cleaner on the area, cover with plastic wrap to soften the grease, and after 10 minutes, remove the wrap and wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Frosted glass with its uneven surface can be challenging to clean. Here are methods for tough stains:
- Grease stains: Wipe with a mixture of vinegar, dish soap, and water.
- Tape residue: Scrape off with a blade, then wipe with turpentine.
- Ink, pencil, crayon stains: Clean with turpentine.

After painting or home decorating, paint residue may be left on glass. Water-soluble latex paint used on walls or ceilings is easy to remove with water, but some paints may be tougher to handle.
In such cases, dip an old toothbrush in paint thinner or turpentine and apply to the paint. After about half an hour, the paint will start to peel off, and you can gently scrape it away with a paint scraper. Alternatively, repeatedly wipe with a cloth dampened with gasoline to dissolve the paint, then use a dry cloth to remove any residue. The easiest method is to gently scrape off the paint with a blade, which generally won't damage the glass.
